The Canada Running Series kicked off its 2015 season in Vancouver’s Stanley Park over the weekend at the Modo Spring Run-Off 8K. The event was the largest ever, with 1,300 runners who signed up to race the event. “We were thrilled with the turnout today and the fabulous level of competition,” said CRS president Alan Brookes. “What a fabulous launch into spring. We can’t thank everyone enough for making this event such a success. Lanni Marchant won the women’s race in 26:43. Rachel Cliff and Dayna Pidhoresky were second and third. The event raised $4,200 for local school programs through the Take a Hike Foundation in the city. Wiebe will race for the Canada’s world cross-country team next weekend in Guiyang, China.
